A new beginning for craft

2013 see’s me making a lot of bold decisions in taking my craft forward, seeing my confidence grow with my artwork and, enjoying the time with my family now that i am a grandmother of a beautiful baby boy,  Joseph Morgan.

I have done a complete 180 degree, and now my Holly is growing up and becoming a beautiful little girl, she has inspired me to do all the things I ever dreamed of doing. I have recently signed up as a demo for Stampin’ up, if you haven't heard of them they are an international craft company bringing to you the finest craft items ever and I am a massive fan and have been for a number of years, I have took the plunge and will be motivating other people to try out this fantastic hobby with me and my Stampin’ up colleagues.

So as a rule, I will be posting at least one craft, and one Fine art post a day, or every other day, i don't want to burn out now do I, and I hope you can enjoy this fantastic journey with me.

This is a ceramic jug, that has gone in for glazing it is a coiled jug, and its purpose is to be filled with celebratory scrumpy cider, believe you me it is bigger that the picture does it justice, I have given it a very authentic dark brown glaze to finish and it has pear cross sections engraved down the back and the handle, its shape has been designed so that it can be poured without having to lift(bonus if you have had too many) as it is quite heavy.

So here’s to all you devoted crafters out there, and to all you budding artists, I salute you.

How have you guys been

Happy new year, i know we are already in to February but time has no significance in my life a the moment unless it means handing work in on time. I have got quite a bit to share with you, i want to make this a quick post. This is something i made for my Sister Ann and she loves it it is an I pad bean bag and as far as i know there is none on the market, and it works a treat, Ann did try to upload a photo but it wouldn't work for her but i will get her to do a review of the bean bag

photo (3)

She absolutely adored it and uses it all the time,  and i loved making it for her. You will find this pattern in craft seller magazine but the had just the one layer, what i have done is made the bean bag and then made a separate washable quilted cover for it. Thought i would take it one step further, the ones that my sister had found online were static and the i-pad just sat in front in a slot without being able to position it in a comfortable position and were priced between £25-£30, you could make one of these bean bags for less than a tenner.

photoAnd with left overs you could make a mini one for you smart phone or i-pod.

thanks for stopping by see you later. X

Enjoying Summer Yet

Hello and what a wet morning we are having, thought i would pop on and share a photo with, you from this time last year,  walking to nursery this morning reminded me of being in the back garden and the sun was so hot that me and Holly had the pool out and umbrellas all over the garden for shade, (my back garden is a bit of a suntrap) and we had a mock Glastonbury, you will notice, most of the festivals have been cancelled this year due to some areas having a flood warning.  But we shouldn't let that stop us from having some fun still.

Holly in the garden

In between the rain and sun we did get some playtime though, but for today she gets to play indoors with her friends come on Summer get a move on.

DSCF1549

This one is on the top shelf. It has  been made out of porcelain, and has been baked then glazed, and then laser transfers of feathers were applied then it was fired on a low heat.

This has been one of the many milestones that i will overcome over the next few years as, I will be on the degree course in September working towards, my BA Hons in fine art, Hooray for passing with merits, I have done all my celebrating, and now i need to prepare for September, thanks for visiting.
