Enjoying Summer Yet

Hello and what a wet morning we are having, thought i would pop on and share a photo with, you from this time last year,  walking to nursery this morning reminded me of being in the back garden and the sun was so hot that me and Holly had the pool out and umbrellas all over the garden for shade, (my back garden is a bit of a suntrap) and we had a mock Glastonbury, you will notice, most of the festivals have been cancelled this year due to some areas having a flood warning.  But we shouldn't let that stop us from having some fun still.

Holly in the garden

In between the rain and sun we did get some playtime though, but for today she gets to play indoors with her friends come on Summer get a move on.

Thanks for stopping by x

This one is on the top shelf. It has  been made out of porcelain, and has been baked then glazed, and then laser transfers of feathers were applied then it was fired on a low heat.

This has been one of the many milestones that i will overcome over the next few years as, I will be on the degree course in September working towards, my BA Hons in fine art, Hooray for passing with merits, I have done all my celebrating, and now i need to prepare for September, thanks for visiting.

Gerbera challenge 114

I absolutely adore this stamp from wood ware, I made this card for my sisters 7th wedding anniversary, I loved it so much that I went and ordered the rose and lily singles from the same collection, a really nice big bloom with lovely big petals to colour in. I coloured it in using pastel pink, sun kissed, and  putty pro-markers to blend the petals, the background uses mica pigment paint to give a paler image with the same stamp.

I am entering this card in to

Good luck to all the other entries, there is some really gorgeous cards.

Back on track

I have had a chance to have a really good browse round everyone's blogs today and update my self on the crafty scene, and i must say i am astounded by the quality, and beautiful cards and paper projects i have found, i hope i find everyone in good health and are enjoying our typically British weather four seasons in one day, so i thought i would take the opportunity to preview what i have been up to, although the final show for the art and design course is only weeks away and i should be working on my final essay(2000 words) and my final projects, i miss my paper crafts and all the new goodies that are being released this month.

The stamp is boho chic by simply sassy which is available at Funky kits, coloured with my promarkers satin ivory and vanilla for the skin tone, and pear and olive green for the trousers and pastel pink and cerise for her top, i have not really looked for any challenges that this fits in to as i have so much more cards to show and hope these will fit in to a catergory,  hope you like it.

Coiled cherry

This is one of the final pieces that i wanted to show you this started life as a long piece of clay coiled in to a bowl shape. to execute a shape like this the two halves had to be done separately and joined together by another coil. This did actually start life as an apple but the shape was totally wrong, but with some consultation with my tutor we decided on a cherry which i stained with a velvet glaze and painted with a red oxide to give me a deep red colour, this was then highly glazed leaving the stalk as a contrast to the cherry.
And as usual here is my close up, you can see there is metallic marbling on the surface this has come from the clay and has risen through the surface.

Thanks for watching, there's more coming soon xx

Good morning all and its so glad to be back in the land of blog, I hope everyone is ok and that you are enjoying the beautiful weather, me I'm sat in college having had numerous problems with my Internet at home i decided to use college resources to get done what i need done but hey isn't that what they are there for, so a lot of what i display will be Art and Design (bla bla) and a few card and sewing projects yes i have been a very busy bunny making all kinds of soft furnishings for peeps and handbags and jewellery rolls and shower caps mostly personalised as well(pictures to follow) so now i have kind of blagged my way through the course this year, next year things will really hit the fan as i have to start looking like and talking the talk if you know what i mean, a fine art student, putting everything i have learned throughout  the past two terms has not been a waste of time, believe you me it has tested me to the limit, there has been tears along the way but, mostly laughter, as I have found a lot out about myself and my fellow students.

Thanks for listening speak soon
