Mixed Medium Blending

Well for a change I thought I would share a card with you that is not in a challenge although I was tempted, I have been browsing most of the morning, to see if one would fit as I did not want this one to sit in my pictures folder going unseen because I am pretty chuffed with my colouring on this one, so I am sharing this with you although most of you may be using this teqnique already, I had coloured in my image using pro-markers,  but could not quite get my shading as deep as I wanted it so i decided to use my ink tense pencil which are watercolours by Derwent I'm sure you have heard of them, they are pure pigment colour which means you can keep applying and get deeper and richer colours, where ever you need them, I was so shocked and surprised by the finished result, that i got a bit carried away and thought what other stamps do I have that I could use this teqnique.

If you look closely at her hair in the top picture just around the band I had used my deepest brown which is henna, but needed it darker, and below on her skirt, I had used a very dark red to emphasise the ruffles on her dress, I also used a sakura glitter pen on the hem of her dress which gave it a slight shimmer.

I hope I can share more tips and teqniques like this with you again. Hope you like it.

See you again soon.

Pick a square

It was such a choice, great idea for a challenge though, I actually found myself putting a glass on each corner, and centre of my card to decide where i wanted my image, excellent idea, as the challenge goes simply less is more. I am combining this challenge also with Flower frenzy over at simply stamping challenge, I stamped a Non SU stamp rose on to the right hand corner of my card,i then stamped it a couple of times with leaves on to more whisper white CS and layered it up,  at first i did it in early espresso, which i really liked, and then i thought well what if my rose was red so i then stamped in Cherry cobbler, with Basic grey leaves and this was very nice(although i say so myself) i love SU colours as they are so vivid and strong the sentiment is a retired one from SU, from my stash and i have flittered with glitter to finish. Hope you like it.

Design team call and a challenge

The time really has flown by and my nerves are starting to fray as time is running out for Make it Monday design team call i had an entry which I'm hoping that the lovely Jacquie will let me withdraw it and enter another creation as i was not completely happy with it, and feel that i would be letting myself down if i did not do something about it, I also found another call that it would suit perfectly and it is called Top tip Tuesday they have some great top tips coming in from followers and that is very useful, I believe i have a lot to share, and would love to do this through a design team,  and here is my entry,

mimcard

I think i had thought a lot more about embellishments this time round and colour,  I hope you like it.

Pretty in pink

I made this card for you today incorporating, lots of elements to my card for the sole purpose of fitting it in to as many challenges as I can. Firstly I have a sketch from Skipping Stones designs, its a really beautiful sketch and some thing different to what i have seen before,

Photobucket

I then had a look for colour and found pretty pastels at Paper-take weekly, I am starting to love using pastels as you can mix it up as much as you like and the colours still look great, and then i found an embellishment challenge over at passion for pro-markers its their second birthday and i thought this would be a good one you have to use embellishments in two’s, so i used two flowers, two butterflies and also, a double bow, which i thought looked really elegant, and of course image was coloured in using only pro-markers. I then went to I(heart) pro-markers and the challenge there was pearls also you have to use pro-markers, so i added pearls as a lovely extra, so here is my finished design hope you like it.

Two of a kind

When you have a 12x12” piece of card stock you can quite easily make two cards as i found doing this one i had too many images of a small nature so i decided to spilt them in to two different designs here’s what i come up with

bothcards

The images are from Pink Petticoat from their reduced section and they will be retiring so grab yourself a bargain, i printed on to SU Whisper white cardstock which gave me a brilliant result except you have to leave it overnight to dry completely or it will smudge with your pens (whichever medium you prefer to use) water colouring is out of the question as it will buckle your paper and smear your image, papers are from lily pad and the ribbon was from a Thornton's chocolate box that was bought for mother day for me, which matched my cherry cobbler red cs perfectly (happy accident) so here’s the close ups

Happy crafting folks see you soon xx

Blogger issues

Due to Blogger issues for the past 24 hrs my Blog post also comments for the said post have now gone luckily i have saved a local draft of my post to my computer and was able to republish, due to this it, looks like i have not recieved any comments on the post this has left me feeling quite hoplless as now i feel that if i do have any visitors for this post it looks like no one has seen it i still have all the comments by e-mail but i have no way of republishing those comments. If any one can help then i would appreciate some advice Thanks x

Less is definitely more

Here is my entry for the LIM challenge the theme is white on white, no coloured images. I have layered up whisper white cardstock on to 4x4’’  easel card and used dotted embossing folder, on to a plain layer, i then added an oval sentiment on to a scalloped oval, then added white vellum flowers and used a pearl brad and a couple of gems, ribbon was taken from my sisters sewing stash its like a ribbed white cotton ribbon very understated my other white ribbon was to wide for this size card. Hope you like it.

Altered Items

Candles are not a thing i would have ever dreamed of altering but when i saw some candles my sister bought from a gift shop that had a sentiment on i thought i can do that, so i did and after trial and error here is what i came up with,  i went on various websites like split coast stampers to see if i could find some tutorials there wasn't many, but i thought i would put my spin on it, i made these for Pauls moms birthday, using SU cardstock, i think it was wild wasabi, (if you know please correct me) i made Alice bands for the outer two and the middle one i stamped a sentiment on to tissue paper, ( i mean the kind you gift wrap with not the toilet kind) and used my heat tool to kind of fuse it on to the candle, well it looked ok, i was chuffed to bits any way what do you think?
